This is my entry for *Hanratty-Stock 's contest The Love and Hate Contest.

This deviation comes with a long story about my friend ~Roo-kie 's (aka Kelli) relationship, but I will cut it short and just explain what everything means.

The rope symbolizes a relationship, one that both male and female are hanging on to to make it work.
The pathway leading toward the girl and into certain doom (the water overflowing over the path) shows his path if he makes bad choices.
With one slip he could fall away from the girl, and toward 'doom'.
The girl with the rope symbolizes strength in a sense, and the good things he should be holding on to.
And her sitting in the arch of the path shows that there are ways to turn away from doom.
It shows the love (girl with rope) and the hate toward certain doom.
But also personally, I love ~Roo-kie who the girl with the rope represents. XD And I 'hate' the person 'girl #2' represents.

That about sums it up.
